We administer federal and state funds through programs designed to advance the development of energy-efficient and affordable housing for working families, drive housing policy for Louisiana, and oversee the state's Disaster Housing Task Force.

Each day our mission is met by a dedicated staff of professionals who help families make their housing dreams a reality.

Project Highlights

FAUBOURG LAFITTE PHASE VII

#TeamLHC joined Providence Community Housing and other partners in New Orleans to break ground on Faubourg Lafitte Phase VII, which will include 51 affordable housing units. LHC awarded the project $1.2M through the 4% Low Income Housing Tax Credit Program (LIHTC). The estimated LIHTC equity proceeds include $9.8M, along with $1.2M in state historic tax credit and equity and $927,000 in federal historic tax credits and equity. Way to go, Team!

For today's LHC On Your Block, we want to introduce you to one of our Think Tank Partners that is working on creating affordable and sustainable single-family homes across Louisiana. LHC's Think Tank Partners come together for quarterly meetings throughout the year to discuss national and local opportunities that could directly impact improving the state's homeownership needs. Collaboration is key to ensuring the mission of the Louisiana Housing Corporation. For LHC On Your Block, #TeamLHC introduces the 29:11 Academy and their efforts to build affordable housing for families in need. The 29:11 Academy is a non-profit that went through LHC's Rental Restoration Development Program (RRDP). Through the partnership with the Office of Community Development, LHC awarded funding to affordable housing developments in areas affected by the natural disasters during 2020 and 2021. Louisiana Mortgage Bankers Association

LHC's dynamic homeownership duo, Daniel Duggan and Dexter Alexander, attended the first-ever Louisiana Mortgage Bankers Association Conference in Baton Rouge.

New Roads

#TeamLHC attended a housing event to help facilitate a class for potential first-time homeowners in connection with the Jericho Road building program.

Lafayette

LHC's Homeownership Marketing Representative, Dexter Alexander, and LHC Public Information Officer, Breanne Bizette, partnered with Red River Bank for a special video promo for the LA Homeownership Think Tank. The next quarterly meeting is on September 11th. #TeamLHC hopes to see you there.

Baton Rouge

Duggan also participated in the annual Louisiana Department of Insurance Conference. We are honored to work with our other state agencies to serve Louisiana residents.
