LHC's mission is to ensure that every Louisiana resident is granted an opportunity to obtain safe, affordable, and energy-efficient housing. We administer federal and state funds through programs designed to advance the development of energy-efficient and affordable housing for working families, drive housing policy for Louisiana, and oversee the state's Disaster Housing Task Force.
Each day our missionis met by a dedicated staff of professionals who help families make their housing dreams a reality.

#TeamLHC joined housing partners in Algiers to break ground on the historic Touro Shakspeare site, which will be redeveloped into an affordable senior living facility. LHC awarded $16 million in Multifamily Housing Revenue Bonds and $982,554 in Low-Income Housing Tax Credits (LIHTC). The project was also a recipient of LHC's Prime-3 Program, resulting in over $5M in Community Development Block Grant funds, in collaboration with the Louisiana Office of Community Development Disaster Recovery. We can’t wait to see the final product!
Collaboration is KEY, and #TeamLHC is happy to be here in Lake Charles today, as we celebrate the grand opening of the Mid-City Lofts! “As we shape the future of affordable housing, partners are essential in helping us create accessible housing that benefits everyone," explains LHC Executive Director Kevin Delahoussaye. "This is just one of many projects we have partnered with HRI Communities that demonstrates the importance of our work in communities striving for quality housing after a natural disaster."

2026 Point-In-Time Count
#TeamLHC’s Homelessness Solutions Department participated in the 2026 Point-in-Time Count. We want to thank all of our housing partners across the state for braving the cold weather to conduct this count so that our state can provide support to Louisiana’s homeless population.
