We administer federal and state funds through programs designed to advance the development of energy-efficient and affordable housing for working families, drive housing policy for Louisiana, and oversee the state's Disaster Housing Task Force. 

Each day our mission is met by a dedicated staff of professionals who help families make their housing dreams a reality.

Corporation Updates

 The Louisiana Housing Corporation (LHC) has partnered with eHousing Plus (eHP) to modernize and streamline the delivery of its homeownership programs, providing participating lenders with a centralized platform to reserve loans and manage the lending process. 

October was Domestic Violence Awareness Month, a time to recognize survivors, raise awareness, and highlight the organizations working every day to provide safety, stability, and support.

For October's #LHCOnYourBlock, #TeamLHC traveled to Monroe, Louisiana to visit our partners at The Wellspring, an organization dedicated to providing shelter and supportive services to individuals and families experiencing homelessness or fleeing domestic violence.

Through funding from the Louisiana Housing Corporation’s Emergency Solutions Grant (ESG) Program, nonprofits like The Wellspring can continue providing critical resources and services to people who need them most.

🏠 #TeamLHC celebrated 50 years of Weatherization!

For five decades, the Weatherization Assistance Program has helped Louisiana households make strategic improvements to their homes that reduce energy waste, improve efficiency, and create more comfortable living environments.

Through partnerships with Community Action Agencies across the state, including St. Mary Community Action, LHC helps bring weatherization services to more Louisiana households — making homes more energy-efficient while helping families save on energy costs.

Monroe, LA

LHC's Homeownership Outreach Team visited our certified lenders at Eagle Bank Mortgage in Monroe to discuss the newest changes to LHC's homeownership programs.   

Shreveport

LHC's Homeownership Marketing and Outreach Supervisor, Daniel Duggan, participated in panel discussions at United Way of Northwest Louisiana's "Get Banked Day." Attendees learned about LHC's Homeownership Programs. The event was held at the Shreveport Municipal Riverview Theatre along the banks of the Red River. 

LHC Board Retreat 2026

 The LHC Board of Directors held a retreat this month to get an extensive overview of #TeamLHC and the updates happening in our agency. We are looking forward to new successes in the future, and we can’t wait to share them with Louisiana! 

Pink Day at LHC

This October was Breast Cancer Awareness Month, #TeamLHC proudly wore pink to raise awareness and stand together in support of those affected by breast cancer. 

Baton Rouge

LHC's Homeownership Marketing and Outreach Team and other housing advocates facilitated a homeownership class at United Christian Faith Ministries for a packed room filled with eager attendees who wanted to learn about financial literacy.

In honor of Hunger and Homelessness Awareness Month, LHC will be collecting donations for St. Vincent de Paul and The Greater Baton Rouge Foodbank throughout November. Donation Items include:
