LHC's mission is to ensure that every Louisiana resident is granted an opportunity to obtain safe, affordable, and energy-efficient housing. We administer federal and state funds through programs designed to advance the development of energy-efficient and affordable housing for working families, drive housing policy for Louisiana, and oversee the state's Disaster Housing Task Force.
Each day our missionis met by a dedicated staff of professionals who help families make their housing dreams a reality.

Homeownership can be a possibility. Through the Louisiana Housing Corporation's partnerships with nonprofits across the state, we work together to build homes for families seeking homeownership. Habitat for Humanity Northshore West assists households in St. Tammany and Washington Parishes in achieving homeownership through LHC's Nonprofit Open Cycle Affordable Housing (NOAH) Program. We are grateful for this partnership, knowing we are meeting the needs of Louisiana residents.
When facing financial hardship, taking action early can make a difference. LHC encourages Louisiana homeowners who are struggling to make their monthly mortgage payments to explore available foreclosure prevention resources and understand the steps they can take toprotect their homes. Swipe through our foreclosure prevention tips to learn what to do if you’re unable to make your mortgage payment, or visit the LHC blog for more information.
