Bogalusa, LA — The Louisiana Housing Corporation (LHC), in partnership with Certified Community Housing Development Organization (CHDO)Bogalusa Rebirth, is proud to announce the completion of eight newly constructed affordable single-family homes now available for homeownership.

Located on and near Long Avenue, the homes are part of the Richardsontown Revitalization, a transformative workforce housing initiative designed to help individuals and families achieve the dream of owning a home. Bogalusa Rebirth brought this homeownership vision to life through the partnership with the Louisiana Housing Corporation and the CHDO Annual Awards Program (CHAAP).

This program utilizes HOME funds designed to support private, nonprofit, community-based organizations focused on creating affordable housing in areas they serve. LHC awarded Bogalusa Rebirth $1.3M through the CHAAP Program. Bogalusa Rebirth utilized the CHAAP Program to fund eligible costs for developing these homeownership units. " Bogalusa Rebirth is a valuable CHDO partner of the LHC," said LHC Executive Director Kevin Delahoussaye. "Richardsontown Revitalization is a shining example of the incredible work Bogalusa Rebirth is doing for Louisiana residents, and we are elated to contribute to that success."

The eight single-family homes are newly constructed, and the project provides a transformative housing development experience for Bogalusa. "This investment represents more than dollars; it reflects a strong partnership between Louisiana Housing Corporation and Bogalusa Rebirth, “said Bogalusa Rebirth Executive Director Wendy Dupont. "Together, we are building a pathway for families to achieve homeownership while strengthening our community for generations to come."

In addition to providing affordable housing opportunities, this project underscores a deep commitment to local economic investment. "What makes this project especially meaningful is that every step is rooted in Bogalusa," said Bogalusa Rebirth Board President Derek Dantin. "From contractors to suppliers, we are intentionally partnering with local businesses to build these homes. It’s about more than housing; it’s about investing directly back into our community."

Building and Contractor Work and Architecture for Richardsontown Revitalization was done by Nobles & Associates LLC.
