February 2025—The Louisiana Housing Corporation (LHC) welcomes Wendy Gentry as the new Chairwoman and Lance Ned as a new board appointee to the LHC Board of Directors. These strategic appointments aim to strengthen LHC's commitment to ensuring every Louisiana resident has the opportunity to safe, affordable, and energy-efficient housing.

Governor Jeff Landry appointed Gentry to the Chairwoman of the LHC Board of Directors position citing her leadership and innovative approach as key assets for the future of the agency. Governor Landry stated, in a press release, on February 21st, 2025, "Wendy has served LHC for nearly a year, where she has brought new ideas and innovation to the corporation. I am confident that in her new role as Chair, she will help streamline the agency in a way that best serves the people of our State. I am grateful for her service."

A resident of Calhoun, LA, Gentry brings over 30 years of experience in the real estate industry. She holds a bachelor's degree in business from Louisiana Tech University and has played an instrumental role in managing multiple real estate holding companies, overseeing acquisitions, and property management. Additionally, Gentry serves as the Chief Financial Officer for a local finance company.

Beyond her professional achievements, Gentry is deeply involved in her community. She serves as a reserve deputy for the Ouachita Parish Sheriff’s Office Mounted Patrol Unit and is active in nonprofit organizations including the Children’s Coalition and the Monroe Garden Study League. “I am truly honored to be appointed as Chairwoman of the Louisiana Housing Corporation. I am grateful for the opportunity to serve our state and work alongside dedicated leaders to ensure that all Louisianans have access to safe, affordable housing. Housing is the foundation of strong communities, and I look forward to contributing my experience in real estate and finance to help drive meaningful progress. I appreciate the trust placed in me and am committed to making a positive impact for families across Louisiana,” said Wendy Gentry.

As Gentry takes on the position as Chairwoman of the LHC Board of Directors, Brandon Williams will preside over Gentry's previous position as Budget and Finance Committee Chair.

In addition, Lance Ned has been appointed to the LHC Board of Directors by the Speaker of the Louisiana House of Representatives. Ned, who currently serves as the Code Enforcement Director and Building Official for the City of Opelousas, brings a unique blend of experience in construction, real estate, and public service to the board.

Before transitioning to the construction and real estate sectors, Ned earned a degree in speech pathology from Southern University and spent 15 years as a pharmaceutical sales representative. His diverse career background gives him a well-rounded housing and community development perspective.

"As a state agency, we are thrilled to welcome these two leaders into their new roles to serve the residents of Louisiana," said LHC Executive Director Kevin Delahoussaye. "Their combined expertise in real estate, finance, and community development will help us continue our work to improve housing opportunities for Louisiana. We look forward to witnessing their efforts and their collaboration to ensure our mission."

The LHC and its Board of Directors are excited to work alongside these accomplished leaders to continue strengthening Louisiana’s housing initiatives and support the state’s commitment to providing affordable housing solutions for all.
