We administer federal and state funds through programs designed to advance the development of energy-efficient and affordable housing for working families, drive housing policy for Louisiana, and oversee the state's Disaster Housing Task Force. 

 

Each day, our mission is met by a dedicated staff of professionals who help families make their housing dreams a reality.

 In New Orleans, #TeamLHC and Concerned Citizens for a Better Algiers, Inc.’s (CCFBA) celebrated the groundbreaking of two affordable rental duplexes on Casa Calvo Street. Both duplexes received a total of $710,000 from Hurricane Ida CDBG-DR funding through the Rental Restoration and Development Program (RRDP).

Point In Time Count 2025 

LHC & LABOSCOC PIT Count -1

 This week, thousands across the country will participate in the Point In Time Count, or PIT Count, to get a rough estimate of how many people are experiencing homelessness. The Louisiana Housing Corporation and the Louisiana Balance of State Continuum of Care walk you through our responsibilities and goals during the 2025 PIT Count. Once the report is finalized, it provides data that helps us to identify the areas and people that need our help in Louisiana.

LHC answered homeownership questions in Maringuoin, LA at the invitation of Mayor and Board of Aldermen.

Louis QAP 2025-2026 Public Hearing-1

Lake Charles, LA

#TeamLHC and Lake Charles city leaders visited the 750th Homeowner that received funding from either RESTORE or the Lake Charles Housing Rehabilitation Recovery Program (HRRP). HRRP was a partnership with the City of Lake Charles to help those get back on their feet after recent hurricanes.

LHC's Homeownership Department's "Welcome Home" Tour was a success. LHC Homeownership Marketing Representative Dexter Alexander set up a booth at the Youngsville Library joined by Katie Truax of Red River Bank and Claire Scott of the LSU AgCenter.

At the beginning of January, LHC held a 2025-2026 Qualified Allocation Plan (QAP) Hearing in the V. Jean Butler Boardroom.

LHC's Dexter Alexander spoke at UREC's Homebuyer Workshop in Baton Rouge about some of LHC's down payment assistance programs and incentives the state provides to first-time homebuyers.

Budget & Finance Committee Matters:

  • The Board of Directors discussed the LHC Balance Sheet for November 2024.
  • Discussed the LHC Profit & Loss by Funding Source for November 2024
  • Discussed the LHC Unrestricted Cash Balances

Administration Committee Matters: 

  • Approved the resolution of the Executive Director's Authority to select the LHC Chief Financial Officer with the approval of the Board of Directors. 
  • Discussed and received an update on the CHDO Quarterly Meetings, CHDO University, and all eligible CHDOs receipt of their 2023 Operating Funds. 
  • Approved the resolution to amend the LHC Bylaws (Previous notice was given on December 11, 2024) reflective of Act 393 from the 2023 Regular Session regarding conducting meetings via electronic means.
