LHC's mission is to ensure that every Louisiana resident is granted an opportunity to obtain safe, affordable, and energy-efficient housing. We administer federal and state funds through programs designed to advance the development of energy-efficient and affordable housing for working families, drive housing policy for Louisiana, and oversee the state's Disaster Housing Task Force.

LHC On Your Block is back! Preserving and renovating housing can enhance sustainability and energy-efficiency. A prime example of these qualities is Tivoli Place, located in the New Orleans Warehouse District. This 163-unit building is affordable housing dedicated to senior citizens who are 62 and older. Before this historic building became Tivoli Place, it was the Bienville Hotel. Watch this video to learn more about this LHC-funded affordable housing project.
In DeSoto Parish, LHC's Homeownership Team member Terry Hale participated in the "Welcome Home" Housing Fair Expo for rural communities. The Highland Center Ministries, Chase Bank, and more gathered to host a first-time homebuyer expo.
The Block is Yours
LHC's Homeownership Department spent time with Louisiana Realtists at the Reimagine Women's Center in Baton Rouge to educate the public about affordable homeownership opportunities.
Continuing Education Class at the Riverview Library
A Continuing Education Class was held for realtors to learn more about LHC's down payment assistance programs and how they can be beneficial for potential homebuyers. Red River Bank also sponsored the event.
East Baton Rouge Parish School System Spring Fling
LHC's Homeownership Marketing Supervisor, Daniel Duggan, participated with other groups at EBR Parish School System's Spring Fling to spread LHC's mission of affordable, safe, and energy-efficient housing.
Grenta, LA
LHC's Homeownership team member, Dexter Alexander, participated in the "Building Dreams: Exploring Affordable Housing Solutions" with the New Orleans Office of Community Development, Jefferson Parish Finance Authority, and Jefferson Parish Office of Community Development. The organizations gave an overview of grants, programs with assistance, resources, and more surrounding affordable homeownership opportunities.

LHC's Disaster Response and Recovery Administrator, Ray Rodriguez, spoke at 29:11 Academy's grand open house. The two buildings with two bedrooms and 1 bath utilized LHC's Rental Restoration & Development Program (RRDP).
