Corporation Updates
#TeamLHC and Senator Regina Barrow meet some Blue Tarp Program Recipients. The LHC Louisiana Blue Tarp Program provided financial assistance in the form of a grant to cover the costs of needed roof repairs and/or replacement for owner-occupied homes. This program has been a huge success for Louisiana residents, particularly with the elderly population. #TeamLHC would like to thank Senator Barrow for her hard work and efforts to procure funding for the Blue Tarp Program. Watch this video to hear homeowners' testimonies on the Blue Tarp Program.
This October, #TeamLHC recognized Domestic Violence Awareness Month. The National Low Income Housing Coalition found that most advocates and survivors of domestic violence identify housing as a primary need. The lack of affordable housing options limits domestic violence victims to quality and safe housing. This is why the Louisiana Housing Corporation partners with housing advocates, such as the YWCA of Greater Baton Rouge. Watch this video to learn more about the YWCA Women's Empowerment Center and how LHC is breaking down affordable housing barriers for those who need it the most.
Meet one of LHC's Housing Partners, the Louisiana Coalition Against Domestic Violence. LHC and LCADV have worked together to provide housing resources, such as rental assistance, to those fleeing domestic violence. Having a safe place to live is crucial for those who may be trying to leave a harmful environment. As we reflect on Domestic Violence Awareness Month, we are grateful for our collaborating partners who help us reach those who are vulnerable. LHC and LCADV encourage those who may be experiencing domestic violence to reach out. The LCADV hotline is 1.888.411.1333.
