LET'S DO THIS!
At LHC, our mission is to ensure that every Louisiana resident has the opportunity to obtain safe, affordable, energy-efficient housing. Through financial assistance, resources and education, we offer first-time homebuyers the necessary tools to take the first step and complete the path to purchasing a home.
The first step in buying your new home is understanding your financing options. Check out our first-time homebuyer* financial assistance programs below to see which one is right for you!
LHC provides funds to increase your buying power, cover costs and ultimately assist with the purchase of your first home. These programs are offered to Louisiana residents with a minimum credit score of 640 who also meet other qualifications specific to each program.** Programs are flexibly applied to most home types in most areas, including site built homes upon completion.

This program offers downpayment and closing costs assistance ranging from 5-9% (depending on the loan amount), as well as below-market interest rates to those who qualify.
Similar to the MRB HOME, the MRB Assisted program expands eligibility, provides 4% of the loan amount for downpayment and closing costs, as well as a favorable interest rate.
MCC is a federal tax credit of up to 40% of the annual mortgage interest payment or $2,000 for the life of a 30-year loan. The credit is limited by the amount of interest that the borrower pays annually. This credit can be used in conjunction with the RSS program and may be applied to the borrower’s qualifying income increasing the eligible loan amount.
