Baton Rouge, LA —The Louisiana Housing Corporation (LHC) is thrilled to announce Shaun Donovan as the opening speaker for its highly anticipated 2024 State Housing Conference. As one of the nation's leaders in housing and community development, Mr. Donovan brings a wealth of experience and insight to the event, which will take place October 27-29, 2024, at the Capitol Hilton in Downtown Baton Rouge.
Mr. Donovan, currently the CEO and President of Enterprise Community Partners, has dedicated over 30 years to advancing public service and fostering opportunities for underserved communities. His extensive career includes transformative roles in both federal and local government. Mr. Donovan served as the Secretary of the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) from 2009 to 2014, where he spearheaded efforts to combat the foreclosure crisis, led the President’s Hurricane Sandy Rebuilding Task Force, and championed significant advancements in fair housing and homelessness reduction.
Following his tenure at HUD, Mr. Donovan served as Director of the U.S. Office of Management and Budget from 2014 to 2017. In this role, he oversaw critical investments in domestic and national security priorities and championed regulations to reduce inequality, expand healthcare access, improve education, and address climate change. His prior experience includes roles as Deputy Assistant Secretary for Multifamily Housing at HUD and Acting FHA Commissioner during the Clinton/Bush transition.
Mr. Donovan’s commitment to public service is further demonstrated by his post-administration roles, including his position as a senior fellow at the Ford Foundation and his involvement with several prominent organizations, such as the Urban Institute and the National Alliance to End Homelessness.
