2026 Louisiana housing needs assessment

The 2026 Housing Needs Assessment for Louisiana has been prepared through an analysis of the housing needs throughout the state. The purpose of this assessment is to assess current and future housing needs in the state. The report includes an executive summary, an updated statewide housing needs assessment for Louisiana, regional assessments comprised of Louisiana’s eight Regional Labor Market Areas (RLMAs) as determined by the Louisiana Workforce Commission, and an appendix. The statewide assessment consists of four main components: demographic, economic, housing supply, and housing needs, with a focus on special needs populations, including low-income populations, seniors, single-parent households, and domestic violence victims. The report provides support for the findings of the study and outlines the sources of information and the methodologies used to arrive at these conclusions.
