Non-Elderly Disabled Voucher

Mainstream: Non-Elderly and Disabled (NED) Voucher Program

Mainstream vouchers assist non-elderly persons with disabilities and their families in the form of either project-based or tenant-based voucher assistance. Aside from separate funding appropriations and serving a specific population, Mainstream vouchers follow the same program requirements as standard vouchers.

QUALIFICATIONS

Mainstream vouchers administered by Louisiana Housing Authority (LHA) in partnership with the Louisiana Department of Health (LDH) providing case management are expected to assist must be used to serve:

  • Non-elderly persons with disabilities and their families
  • Defined as any family that includes a person with disabilities who is at least 18 years old and not yet 62 years old as of the effective date of the initial HAP contract.
  • The eligible disabled household member does not need to be the head of household.
