East Hodge, LA — The Louisiana Housing Corporation (LHC) celebrated the grand opening of the Village Home Apartments featuring duplex-styled homes at an affordable price for low-income families.
Village Home Apartments has a total of 24 units offering residents two bedroom and three-bedroom units. Three of the units are for applicants who qualify at 30% Area Median Income (AMI), 9 units are for applicants who qualify at 50% AMI, and 12 bedroom-units are for applicants who qualify at 60% AMI.
LHC awarded $423,052 through the Low Income Housing Tax Credit Program (LIHTC). The project is a rehabilitation development. "The LIHTC program helps raise property values and provides economic stability by creating jobs as well as producing affordable housing," said LHC Interim-Executive Director Marjorianna Willman. "Developing quality and affordable housing does make a difference in communities, and I expect Village Homes Apartment to do just that."
Village Home Apartments will provide residents with convenient access to Highway 167 and a park within walking distance. “This ribbon-cutting is not merely a celebration of the enhancements we’ve made but a testament to Fairfield Property Management's vision of cultivating vibrant, sustainable communities," said Managing Partner of Fairfield Management Edward Taylor.
