BATON ROUGE, La. — The Louisiana Housing Corporation (LHC) has partnered with eHousing Plus (eHP) to modernize and streamline the delivery of its homeownership programs, providing participating lenders with a centralized platform to reserve loans and manage the lending process.
As part of the transition, lenders will now use the eHousing Plus system to reserve LHC homeownership loans. The platform will serve as the front- and back-end lender portal for LHC’s homeownership programs, while eHousing Plus will also administer compliance reviews for participating loans.
The transition introduces a refreshed homeownership brand, Louisiana Home Starts Here, along with updated names for LHC’s existing programs:
While the program names and lender workflow have changed, the programs themselves have not been replaced. LHC’s existing homeownership offerings and benefits largely remain in place, with the primary changes focused on creating a more centralized, consistent and user-friendly process for lenders.
“LHC is committed to continuously improving the way we deliver our programs and serve the people of Louisiana,” said LHC Executive Director Kevin Delahoussaye. “Our partnership with eHousing Plus will help create a more efficient experience for our lending partners while allowing LHC to strengthen the administration of our homeownership programs. By streamlining the reservation and compliance process, we can better support the lenders who help Louisiana families achieve the dream of homeownership.”
Through the new process, participating lenders will have access to a centralized system designed to simplify program participation, loan reservations, compliance and other administrative functions. eHousing Plus provides housing finance agencies with tools for program administration, funds management, compliance and reporting, while its lender resources are designed to create more efficient workflows and provide ongoing training and support.
The HomeStart programs provide eligible Louisiana homebuyers with access to affordable mortgage products and down payment and closing-cost assistance. For example, HomeStart Assist and HomeStart Advantage provide a 30-year fixed-rate mortgage with forgivable assistance, while HomeStart Plus provides enhanced assistance to eligible homebuyers purchasing homes in designated disaster-affected parishes.
The new system is part of LHC’s ongoing efforts to improve efficiency, strengthen program administration and make its homeownership resources more accessible to lenders and the communities they serve.
Lenders interested in participating in LHC’s homeownership programs can access the eHousing Plus portal and lender resources through LHC’s Homeownership webpage.
