New Orleans, LA — The Louisiana Housing Corporation (LHC) celebrates its investment in the groundbreaking of the Grove Place II alongside the New Orleans Restoration Properties and other city officials.

Grove Place II is a continuation of an affordable housing project led by the New Orleans Restoration Properties. The second phase of Grove Place will feature 36 units, comprising both of rehabilitation and new construction. Future residents will have the option to choose between single-family homes, duplexes, and one to three-bedroom homes.

Grove Place II will be built to a FORTIFIED Gold Standard, which is a construction standard and designation created to reduce damage to structures. This development will also be an Enterprise Green Community, which ensures sustainability and green building practices that result in healthy, efficient, and environmentally friendly homes. The Enterprise Community Loan Fund partnership will also provide financial literacy education to residents of the Grove Place and the surrounding community.

LHC awarded $15M through the Low Income Housing Tax Credit Program (LIHTC). "The Louisiana Housing Corporation is excited to see the second phase of Grove Place," said LHC Executive Director Kevin Delahoussaye. "We have already seen much progress from the first phase. The revitalization in older developments enhances property value, infrastructure, public spaces, and pride for longtime residents."

Grove Place II is centrally located in uptown New Orleans, just five minutes away from downtown and three minutes away from Jefferson Parish. The development is conveniently located within a 1-mile radius of a grocery store, medical clinics, schools, and public transportation.

The developer of this affordable housing project is the New Orleans Restoration Properties (NORP). The builders and contractors are Landis Construction Company, LLC and NORP Construction. The management company over Grove Place II will be NORP as well.
