LHC and Partners Celebrate the Opening of Single-Family Homes in Satinwood Grove Neighborhood

December 14, 2023

PictureBaton Rouge, LA — The Louisiana Housing Corporation (LHC), alongside local and state partners, celebrated the grand opening of the Satinwood Grove Neighborhood, which features 8 single-family homes for low-income families.

LHC awarded $1.2M through the 2016 Floods Neighborhood Landlord Rental Program and $685,020.00 through the HOME Program.

Each home is built with three bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, a patio space, and an enclosed garage parking space.

"After the 2016 Floods, I knew LHC would play a vital role in rebuilding the affordable housing market in Baton Rouge," said LHC Interim-Executive Director Marjorianna Willman. "Satinwood is just one of many projects that LHC has helped fund within the past few years. It's our job to help rebuild and pick up the pieces when disaster strikes."

“The eight single family homes now available in the Satinwood Grove Neighborhood will provide desirable and affordable housing for families in North Baton Rouge,” said Louisiana Office of Community Development Executive Director Pat Forbes. "OCD is excited to team up with LHC and all the partners who make the Neighborhood Landlord Rental program possible so we can provide much-needed affordable housing as we continue to recover from The Great Floods of 2016.”

The developer of this project is the non-profit organization Urban Restoration Enhancement Corporation (UREC), and the contractor of the project is Ronnie Howard Construction Inc. The architect is The Map Group Holdings, LLC. Rampart Property Management will manage the property.
