Thursday, 20 December 2023—The Louisiana Housing Corporation (LHC) proudly announces its accreditation as an Interstate Renewable Energy Council (IREC) Accredited Training Provider for its comprehensive Energy Auditor Course. This accreditation solidifies LHC's commitment to excellence in energy-efficiency education and workforce development within the housing sector.

IREC accreditation stands as a testament to the high-quality training programs, aligning with industry best practices and meeting stringent standards. This recognition not only acknowledges the rigor and quality of the Energy Auditor Course, but also shows LHC's dedication to fostering skilled professionals in the field of energy auditing.

"Louisiana Housing Corporation is honored to receive this accreditation from the Interstate Renewable Energy Council," said LHC Interim-Executive Director Marjorianna Willman. "Through this accreditation, LHC is the only IREC accredited training provider on the Gulf Coast with the nearest facilities being Virgina and Oklahoma. LHC is not just a leader in energy-efficiency, but we are a beacon of excellence in the South. I am also very appreciative of LHC's Training Center Coordinator Pam Lewandowski's drive and dedication to our team and helping us to bring the program to where it is today."

Energy Auditor trainings will be scheduled regularly at LHC's Weatherization Training Center and can be scheduled on demand if there is a great enough need. Being able to offer Energy Auditor training independently of contracted trainers will give the center greater flexibility on class size, amount of time spent in training, and will provide for a more personalized course. Look for these training to start at the end of January 2024.

The IREC accreditation adds credibility and value to LHC's Energy Auditor Course, providing participants with a competitive edge in the job market. Professionals completing this training will emerge as knowledgeable, skilled, and qualified energy auditors capable of effecting positive change in the housing industry.

IREC is a leading independent organization working to increase access to sustainable energy and energy-efficiency through workforce development, regulatory engagement, and stakeholder coordination.
