Keys For Service

Welcome to the Louisiana Housing Corporation’s Keys for Service, a housing assistance program designed to support Louisiana's first responders, certified teachers, and essential workers.

We understand the unique challenges our heroes face when it comes to homeownership – with demanding schedules and added financial stress, saving for a down payment and closing costs can make the dream of owning a home seem out of reach – our program is here to bridge that gap and make it easier and more affordable for our community heroes to purchase their dream homes.

With Keys for Service, Louisiana residents who meet one of the following criteria can receive four percent in down payment and closing costs toward purchasing their home.

  • Active, full-time employees of city, parish, or state law enforcement or emergency response agency
  • Active, full-time firefighters
  • Active, full-time licensed paramedics
  • Active, full-time public safety telecommunicators
  • Active, full-time teachers of a city, parish, state, or private school board; must hold a Louisiana teacher’s certification
  • Active, full-time employees of hospitals, offices of physicians, pharmacies, drug stores, outpatient care centers, nursing care facilities, and assisted living centers

The maximum annual household income for borrowers is $125,000.
