LHC Executive Director Joshua G. Hollins departs for private sector

August 22, 2023

JGH Headshot1August 22, 2023 —Today, LHC Board Chairman Alfred Harrell, III, announced that LHC Executive Director Joshua G. Hollins has submitted his resignation to take a post with a national investment banking firm, specializing in public finance for municipal governments and affordable housing.

ED Hollins has led LHC for the last year and a half with remarkable results. The agency has amplified its external presence and partnerships with federal, state, and local elected officials. Under this administration, LHC has administered over $500 million in CDBG-DR funds, issued over $200 million in mortgage revenue bonds, issued the first taxable bond series in the history of the organization, launched a first of its kind blue tarp roofing program, bolstered homeownership through targeted programs and made notable investments in employees.

“The board of directors is appreciative of the exemplary work and leadership ED Hollins provided, and they are grateful for the trajectory he has placed the agency on. We wish him well as he pursues his next endeavors,” said Chairman Harrell.

Through the addition of over five new programs, LHC has extended its reach to serve more Louisianans with its mission to provide safe, affordable, energy-efficient housing. Market conditions threatened the continued momentum of affordable housing in the last 18 months, however, through the implementation of the Developer Assistance Plan, LHC has invested over $25 million that allowed for hundreds of housing units to come online that were in peril.

“It is with immense pride in the work accomplished and mixed emotions that I return to the private sector,” said Executive Director Joshua G. Hollins.  “As I look to new adventures, I have no reservations about the capabilities of the team at LHC to continue the mission of LHC with excellence.”

Hollins's departure returns him to the public finance industry, where he previously worked before his appointment in March 2022. Hollins will continue to serve as Executive Director through the end of September when the board of directors will meet to discuss leadership going forward.
