November 2026—Join the Louisiana Housing Corporation (LHC), in partnership with the Louisiana Balance of State Continuum of Care (LABOSCOC), as we recognize Hunger and Homelessness Awareness Month by bringing attention to the connection between housing stability, food security, and the needs of individuals and families experiencing homelessness across Louisiana.
Throughout November, LHC will host a donation drive benefiting St. Vincent de Paul of Baton Rouge and The Greater Baton Rouge Food Bank, two organizations working to provide essential resources and support to individuals and families in need. This dual drive focuses on filling both the pantry and the closet because the need for food and clothing doesn’t end when the holidays do. Families in Louisiana communities need these basic necessities year-round.
Adequate Housing and nutrition are essential for every human being. When there is a lack of housing and sustenance for individuals or families, it can affect health, employment, stability, finances, dignity, and more.
“Shelter is more than just having a roof over your head. Stable housing provides a foundation for families and individuals to build healthier and more secure futures,” says LHC Executive Director Kevin Delahoussaye. “Through Hunger and Homelessness Awareness Month, we want to recognize the organizations and community partners working every day to address these challenges and encourage others to join us in supporting their efforts.
St. Vincent de Paul partners with LHC to provide a range of services to individuals and families experiencing poverty, homelessness, and other challenges, helping connect people with resources that can promote stability and self-sufficiency.
During this campaign, LHC will also collect donations for The Greater Baton Rouge Food Bank to provide nutritious food and resources to individuals and families facing hunger throughout the region.
Donation Items Needed for each organization include:

LHC’s November campaign will give #TeamLHC an opportunity to support these organizations through donations while raising awareness of the challenges Louisiana residents face with hunger and housing insecurity.
Participants who want to donate can drop off items at LHC Headquarters, 2415 Quail Drive, Baton Rouge, LA 70808. Gray collection bins will be available on the first floor. All donations will be delivered to partner agencies at the end of November.
We hope that during this month, all Louisiana communities participate in giving back to our vulnerable populations and work to make a difference.
