3 June 2024—the Louisiana Housing Corporation (LHC), a leading advocate for affordable housing solutions in the state, proudly joins the nation in commemorating Homeownership Month throughout June 2024. This annual observance highlights the invaluable role that homeownership plays in fostering stable communities, building wealth, and realizing and working toward the American Dream. As a cornerstone of the American experience, homeownership represents not only a financial investment, but also a deeply rooted aspiration for individuals and families across Louisiana. The stability and security of owning a home serves as a foundation for personal growth, economic prosperity, and community advancement. "The power of homeownership can be transformative," said LHC Executive Director Marjorianna Willman. "At LHC, we work with individuals and families across Louisiana aiding them with the right resources and support in hopes of achieving that American Dream of owning a home. Homeownership builds not only individuals and families but communities allowing us to invest in what we build together." Homeownership Month serves as an occasion to celebrate achievements in housing accessibility, advocate for equitable homeownership opportunities, and educate the public on the benefits of owning a home.
