Weatherization Assistance Program (WAP)

LHC’S commitment

The Louisiana Housing Corporation offers weatherization services to create energy-efficient and comfortable living spaces for Louisiana homeowners. Weatherization is a cost-effective approach that involves making strategic improvements to your home to minimize energy waste, reduce utility bills, and enhance overall comfort.

Discover how our Weatherization program can help you achieve these goals and make your home more sustainable.

What is Weatherization?

Weatherization is the process of making your home more energy-efficient by implementing a range of improvements. These improvements may include insulation installation, air sealing, weather-stripping, duct sealing, and other energy-saving measures.

By addressing areas of energy loss, weatherization helps create a thermal barrier, preventing heat loss in winter and heat gain in summer. It enhances your home's energy performance and reduces reliance on heating and cooling systems, leading to long-term cost savings.

Benefits of Weatherization:

Investing in weatherization offers numerous benefits for homeowners, including:
  • Lower energy bills through reduced energy consumption.
  • Improved indoor comfort by minimizing drafts and temperature fluctuations.
  • Enhanced indoor air quality by reducing air leaks and improving ventilation.
  • Increased durability of your home's structure by mitigating moisture issues.
  • Reduced environmental impact through decreased energy usage and greenhouse gas emissions.
  • Enhanced resale value of your property with improved energy efficiency ratings.
