The Louisiana Housing Corporation (LHC) is proud to announce that the Louisiana Balance of State Continuum of Care (LA BOSCOC) received an award of $29 million in the fiscal year 2023 Continuum of Care (CoC) Program by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). This significant award includes funding for all projects requested by LA BOSCOC, with adjustments made for Fair Market Rent (FMR).
HUD's CoC Program Competition is a crucial initiative to address homelessness and promote community-wide commitment to ending homelessness. LA BOSCOC's successful application resulted in over $29 million of funding, underscoring its dedication to creating sustainable solutions and supporting individuals and families experiencing homelessness.
The awarded funds will contribute to a range of projects designed to provide supportive services and housing solutions tailored to the unique needs of the communities served by the LA BOSCOC. LA BOSCOC remains committed to working collaboratively with local partners, service providers, and stakeholders to maximize the impact of these funds and address the complex challenges associated with homelessness.
Highlights of HUD Award:
- $25.38 million of renewal funding of CoC funded projects across the LA BOSCOC
- $1.41 million of new funding to expand existing projects, including:
- $684,488 for Rapid Rehousing survivors of Domestic Violence in rural areas
- $731,676 for Rapid Rehousing in the Baton Rouge Region
- $1.13 million of new funding to provide Permanent Supportive Housing for people with disabilities experiencing homelessness.

The LA BOSCOC does not have any information at this time regarding when FY2023 funding will become available to the projects. All agencies who are direct recipients of HUD CoC Program funding should be on the lookout for official notification of funding award availability.
