New Orleans, LA — The Louisiana Housing Corporation (LHC) and housing partners celebrate the start of construction on the Esplanade Delille Apartments. This project will be a newly constructed, mixed-income, and mixed-community affordable housing development.
In three buildings, there will be a total of 50 high-quality one- and two-bedroom style apartment units. The Esplanade Delille Apartments will also feature two ground-floor retail bays that include community-minded local small businesses. Residents will have secure off-street parking, bicycle parking, a 900 SF community room, a fitness center, and landscaped outdoor community green space.
"Today, housing is more than just a roof, walls, and a door," says LHC Executive Director Kevin Delahoussaye. "Housing should serve a purpose to its residents and to its surrounding community. At LHC, we think about the intent behind our projects and how they will benefit everyone as a whole. The lot where the Esplanade Delille Apartments was vacant, but that will no longer be the case."
LHC contributed on the financial side of the project by awarding $1.5M in the 9% Low Income Housing Tax Credits (LIHTC). The project will include Enterprise Green Communities criteria and storm resiliency measures to protect residents from future natural disasters.

The anticipated completion date for the Esplanade Delille Apartments is Spring 2027. Contributing housing partners include Landis Construction as the contractor, HCI architecture, and Integrated Logistical Support, INC. as the civil engineer. The future management company will be under HRI Management, LLC.
